CapCut keeps copies of your videos while you edit (smart crops, previews, effects). Those copies stay even after you export. In a real case, a single cache file was 804 MB: a full copy of a podcast episode.
Where the cache is
The cache lives in ~/Movies/CapCut/User Data/Cache. Inside, folders like SmartCrop hold full copies of the videos you edited.

Safe1. Quit CapCut. 2. In Finder: Go → Go to Folder… → ~/Movies/CapCut/User Data/Cache. 3. Move the contents of Cache to the Trash and empty it.
Next time you open a project, CapCut recreates what it needs. It may take a bit longer the first time.
What not to delete
Don't touchOnly delete what's inside Cache. Other folders in User Data may hold your projects and drafts. If you're not sure, leave them alone.
