What changed in each version of the app. If you already have it, NG Clean tells you in the sidebar when there's a new one.

    Automatic updates

    • NewNG Clean downloads new versions in the background, verifies them and installs them when you quit. When you open it, it tells you what it updated to. Turn it off in ⚙︎.
    • New“Restart now” to start using the new version without waiting to quit.
    • NewNotices from NG Studios in the Overview (for example, important news). Close them with one click.
    • ImprovedAnonymous stats now include how much space each kind of cleanup finds and frees, so we know what to improve. Never names or paths of your files.

    Updates itself in one click

    • NewAn “Update” button in the new-version notice: NG Clean downloads the new version, installs it and reopens. No need to download the DMG.
    • NewBefore installing, it checks the download is signed by NG Studios and verified by Apple. If anything doesn't match, nothing is touched.
    • New“What's new” in the notice, plus “Check for Updates…” and “What's New” in the menus.
    • ImprovedWith anonymous stats off, NG Clean still tells you about new versions, without sending any data.

    Every section tells you what cleaning does

    • NewA bar at the bottom of every section with what you selected, how much it weighs and a “Clean selected” button. No need to go back to the Overview.
    • NewEvery group says what cleaning does to it: freed right away, moved to the Trash, cleaned with the official tool, or done by hand.
    • ImprovedThe confirmation shows how much is freed now and how much stays in the Trash, group by group.
    • ImprovedWhat NG Clean won't delete (like the Photos library or iPhone backups) is labeled “Freed by hand”.
